M5D Spring Chickadee Card CLP-22

Good morning!  It's a sunny, beautiful and freezing cold day here in my area.  I don't love the cold, but am happy for the sunshine.  I will take it while I can get it : )
I made this card with my Spring Fever in my mind and the most adorable image from the McMahon Five Designs Store.  This image is one of the latest releases from the M5D store .  Be sure to stop by again though on Monday for some additional releases for a look.  There are some awesome Spring images to use.  I have added some other items from the M5D onto this card, such as the Douglas Fir wood paper, the prima flower, and the pretty gems.  I also added a bit of stickles to the egg shells, and they shine like glass.  I just love how cute this card turned out to be.

M5D..My First Easel Card...Melissa

Hi Everyone...I know you are not used to seeing so many posts from me in such a short time, but I guess I am trying to catch up.  I have been seeing these easel cards around for quite awhile now, and I have never had the nerve to give one a try.  Always thinking that something is going to be far more work than it really is.  These are surprisingly easy to make, so if you have been reluctant, take the plunge and give it a try.  They are no harder than any other card, and actually, the change is refreshing now and then.

This card was made with many items from the McMahon Five Designs Store.  I LOVE that store!!  They have everything to create such pretty and unique projects
The image is part of the D'Amour Allure Collection from the M5D store and is printed on Neenah white paper.  The fence is punched onto wood paper, and many of the flowers and gems are all items that can be found at the M5d store

I added some flower soft at the base of the fence to brighten it up and make it look as if those flowers are just bursting happily between the fence posts.
She looks like she is thinking happy thoughts about something.

I hope you enjoy my first easel card, and I would really recommend that you try one if you haven't yet.  Have a great evening my friends.

MMSC42 Sunrise At The Cross

Hi Everyone~Welcome to the MMSC42 Challenge.  I had some fun doing this one.  This image was a little hard for me to work with.  There wasn't so much coloring involved, so I wanted to add a little spark to it.  I created the sunrise in the background with my pastels, and framed the image with these really cool berries that I happened to find while out and about.  I was hoping to find some palm leaves to use behind the image or at least something that resembled them, but no such luck on my end, and with the weather here the way it has been, I haven't been able to be out shopping as much as I would like to.  So, I used what I had for leaves, and it does add a little splash of color.  I flipped the sketch this week, and I posted a picture of the sketch the was it was designed and the way that I did it at the bottom of my post.

Congratulations to the winner of the GoldStar and Remarkables:

Altered Gift Bag To Wish Good Luck

My dear friend, Abby posted a wonderful altered gift bag this past week, and it inspired me to alter my own bag for my son's student teacher that has finished up her time with the kids and is leaving them this week.  I filled it with some little goodies that any aspiring teacher would love, and my son was so excited to give it to her.

I had alot of fun altering this bag and really have to thank Abby for the idea.  I am sure that I will be doing this again sometime.

Thanks for taking a peek at this today, and I will be back soon to show you what else I have been up to ; )
Have a wonderful evening!!

MMSC41 Jovi In A Basket Easter Card

I know it's a little early for Easter, but can anyone tell yet how anxious I am for spring to get here?   I just LOVE snow for Christmas, but to be honest, I would be happy not to see it for the rest of the winter after that, but this year, we seem to have enough for about 10 Christmases.
So, to cheer myself up, I made this sweet Easter card with none other than the adorable Jovi in a basket that can be found at our weekly sponsor's store:  Sew Many Cards  along with many other cute friends and amazing images.  The perfect place to shop for Easter images!!  Don't forget to check out our monthly sponsor's store ... Cornish Heritage Farms for some great images as well.  They also carry some very pretty Easter images.

There is no room for candy in this Easter basket  ; )  Bunnies are fat free and very cute.  What a great alternative to that Easter candy that always puts on the extra pounds and causes need to visit the dentist.
Who can resist???

The Frozen "Niagara"

This is what happens when you get as much snow as we have and then the weather warms up for a day or two.  We are scheduled to get another foot of snow by this Wednesday, and I honestly do not know where we are going to put in anymore.  We have gotten about 5-6 feet of snow in the last couple of weeks, and another foot is not welcome.  We are going to have some flooding, I'm afraid with spring around the corner and all of this to melt.  I am up to shoveling somewhere around 6 plus times a day and much more on those days we are really slammed.  Minus the pain I have inflicted unintentionally upon myself, I am hoping that I have gained some muscle doing this continuous workout.  ; )

I knock icicles down about 5 times a day, but this must have built overnight, and I can't reach the corners sometimes.  Praying that my roof does not collapse or that those icicles eventually crash down and hurt someone or break something.

So, who out there wants to tell me how much they would love to see snow and experience winter?????  The first person who would rather be here than in anywhere that they are that is warm is doing a trading spaces with me for the next 6 weeks  : )  My bags are packed!!!

Have a great week everyone, and I will see you tomorrow with a happy, craft post. YAY!

M5D Sadie's Floral Hat Card

We are getting a break from the snow today, so I am taking the opportunity to post this card while I have the chance.  This image is from the D' Amour Allure Collection and can be purchased at the McMahon Five Design Shop .  I just got my package in the mail from Sue and could not wait to start creating.  There is such an amazing variety of goodies to buy from there that really gets the mojo going.

Some of the accents on this card that are from M5D are these gorgeous calla lillies that grace this card perfectly.  Of the many gems on here, you can find a selection of these at the M5D store and even the things that you may not readily notice can be found there as well, such as stickles, Neenah white paper and ink.  It's worth a visit over there to see for yourself.
While you're there, have a look at a special Valentine digi stamp that she has available for only $3 which the majority of the proceeds will go to the Make A Wish Foundation.  You can read about the touching story she shares with you behind her choosing this charity on her site

Thanks for dropping by for a visit today, and please leave a comment.  I always look forward to hearing your thoughts.  It puts a smile on my face and sunshine in my day...and believe me, we could use some sunshine here in the North right now.

Well, I'm off to start pondering my next creation.  Have a great weekend, and Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

This was our share of the snow.....

We got 25 inches of snow by the time this picture was taken.  It was still snowing at the time.

I took this one, so that you could see how much actually accumulated on the sidewalks. BTW, I shoveled about 10-12 inches of snow on this same walk right before I went to bed and woke up to find this much more on the ground.

There is a car in there somewhere.  This was the hardest part of snow removal today.  We do the old fashioned way with a shovel.  No snow blowers here.  : (

These are our front steps.  Can you see them there vaguely?
What a day!  I am sore and tired, but the kids had fun it it, so not all was bad.

I hope that most of you escaped this storm and for you that have....let me know where you are, and I am in the market for a new state to live in....nice and warm and where they have no idea what a snow plow is.

Have a beautiful weekend everyone, and stay warm!

I would like to take a moment to welcome our new guest designer diva this month:  Cheryl.  We look forward to working with her and hope you'll drop by her blog to see what she cooks up this month.

~~~Now, onto my sample for this week~~~
This was such a fun image to work with, and I enjoyed embellishing this card with all the pawprints, dog bones, and chew ropes.  I also added a rhinestone collar, because he just seemed like the kind of dog that would wear one of those.  Doesn't he look like a good dog?  I had to add the chipboard words to his dog house to show what a good dog he is.  I also added just a touch of sparkle to him and lots of shine to his coat.
I hope you enjoy my card this week and find some inspiration to create your own work of art for the challenge this week.  I look forward to visiting you, and please leave a comment to let me know that you dropped by and what you think.  Thank you for your time, and have a great day!
May many blessings come your way!
